Trash Collection Fee Increase

You will notice an increase in the amount charged for trash collection on your next sewer/trash bill. The Borough had to go out for bid for trash hauling for 2024/2025 and the lowest bid came in $91,000.00 higher for 2024 and $116,000.00 higher for 2025 compared to what we were paying for 2023. The increase is across the board for single family residential, multi-unit residential, and commercial properties. Single family properties will see an increase of $7.09 per month. The current hauler GFL/Casella was the low bidder so there are no changes in service. They attribute the higher costs to the increase in wages needed to staff the trucks and the increase in equipment costs.
