The Berks County Board of Commissioners passed Resolution No. 357-2024 on October 31, 2024. This Resolution imposes a temporary ban on outdoor burning in the County of Berks and establishes penalties for violation of the ban. All open outdoor burning is banned in Berks County, PA for a period of 30 days from the effective date of November 2, 2024. Open burning is defined as the burning of any combustible material in burn barrels, backyard fire pits and on the ground. The use of propane or gas stoves, charcoal briquette grills, or the use of tobacco in any form is not covered under this burn ban.
