We’ve been seeing more electric scooters around town, and we want everyone to stay safe. Under Pennsylvania law, electric scooters are classified as motor vehicles, but they don’t come equipped with the safety features (like turn signals, mirrors, and lighting) that make them legal for use on public streets and sidewalks.
For everyone’s safety, electric scooters should only be ridden on private property.
We care about keeping our roads and sidewalks safe for all our neighbors, walkers, drivers, and riders alike. Thanks for helping us look out for one another!
If you know a neighbor, friend, or family member who rides a scooter, please share this post with them. A little heads-up now can help keep everyone safe.
