Summer Playground Program

Welcome to the Sinking Spring Summer Playground Program:

Kids just want to have fun! We are providing a place to do that! Our program is a place for children within our extended community to spend time outdoors in a supervised play environment. It is a mix of structured activity and free play guided by our leaders and the kids’ interests. Our leaders are in place to foster safe play and interaction with other children. Our program is not a structured learning environment or a daycare.

The Borough of Sinking Spring has two Playgrounds. The main playground is located at 200 Evans Avenue. There is playground equipment to play on, basketball and tennis courts, a volleyball and a pickleball court, a pavilion, restrooms and lots of shade.

The second playground is located at the intersections of Brookfield Avenue and Brook Hollow Drive. There is playground equipment to play on, a basketball court, restrooms and a pavilion.

Our supervised playground program for 2026 will run for 9 weeks.  Starting June 10 thru August 12.  We are in session from 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Monday thru Friday, and from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday thru Thursday.  Thunderstorms and extremely hot weather may alter those hours..

Information and Online Registration for the Sinking Spring Summer Playground Program

We are excited to offer our 2026 Summer Playground Program! We are starting and ending on a Wednesday to accommodate our extra wintry, winter snow days and still be sure that we offer the full nine weeks of our program.

Our playgrounds are staffed by energetic High school and College students who will provide a safe environment for kids to spend time with their friends and make new friends through a mixture of structured and free-play activities driven by the children in attendance.

You may register and attend ONE of our two playgrounds (Main OR Brookfield).
We encourage you to send your kids to attend both the morning and evening sessions at the playground where you registered.

***       Children must complete Kindergarten before attending. We are following the Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines for summer playground programs.

***         We do not have an upper age limit. However, all children are expected to follow the rules of the playground. Older children will be expected to use appropriate language and behavior around younger children.  Children who cannot follow the guidelines will be asked to leave and refunds will not be given.

***        We will be offering fieldtrips this summer. They are optional and will have an additional fee. More information and sign-up forms will be available on the first day of playground.

We would love for your children to join us!

We have lots of fun activities planned for this summer!

Thank you for considering our program!

 Online Registration:

The process to set up your account:

  • Create Family account from the main menu. (If you have a myrec account for sinking spring, you DO NOT need to create new one.)
  • Add family members (anyone in your household that may register for the program)
  • Choose programs from the main menu.
  • Choose which family members you will sign up for that particular program.

Some of the features you will most likely utilize:

  • Registration for the program attendance
  • Ability to have a family account so that you only need to input registration once and apply it to more than one child
  • Option to pay online for Registration, Field Trips, and Pizza Day
  • Ability to put in a “gift card” to draw from for Field Trips and Pizza Days, avoiding that hunt for cash on Thursdays!
  • Receive email/text messages about weather closures, late trip arrivals, and reminders through the software.  You will not have to sign up for another app.  You must add cell numbers to get texts; they will not go to landlines.

The set-up will walk you through each area you will use—just a few details to clarify.

  • During registration, you’ll also have the choice to pay by cash or check. Until then, it will be treated as a pre-registration. There is no extra fee for cash or check. Your registration will only be considered complete once payment is received.
  • You can pay with a credit card. The credit card fee covers the fees we are charged when you use a card. There is no extra charge to pay cash or check.
  • All registrations (program, field trips and pizza) must be completed online, through your family account, for each child, even if you pay in cash/check at the park.
  • We’re finalizing the details for our field trips. There is a button for them, but there are no choices at this point.
  • Pizza Day: The options are: one slice ($4), two Slices ( $5), and Double Everything ($7). You will be able to add each pizza day for individual kids as needed.

You can pay online each week, put in a gift card, and draw from that when you need it, or pay each Thursday with cash. You can put in a gift card for any amount and pay for anything you sign up for later. It comes with a credit card fee. Either option allows the leaders to sign kids up for pizza on the week that will participate and pay with it using the money in their account.
